Meet the Artist - Becky

I’m Becky, and I live in the South West of England in a village near the historic town of Bath. Ever since I was a child I’ve always had a deep fascination of the natural world, from the camping trips as a child where I was allowed to roam the fields, climb trees and get lost looking for creatures in rockpools at the beach.

I was once studying to be a park ranger, then a marine biologist, I actually haf a place in a prestigious university to study marine biology, until I realised that art was my true calling. You’ll never find me without a sketchbook, and every piece
of art begins with a sketch. A line that builds and twirls, then becomes the animal or landscape living on the page, to me, that is just magical. I’ve always had a deep connection with nature, and I express it
through my art and writing. I’ve even written two fantasy novels where the power of the natural world is ever present.

I've visited Exmoor many times, loving the rugged wildness of the moors and the fossil laden beaches to the north. I still prize a fossil found on the beach there, metallic green telling of a time so long ago... I have many happy memories there even looking out for a possible sighting of what has been dubbed as the “Exmoor Beast”, likely just a legend of course. I love the eritage of Exmoor, its steam railways, beaches, rugged moorland mystery and of course its wildlife. It’s one of the UK’s smallest national parks, but its not lacking in biodiversity.

  • In our fast changing world, I believe its important to rediscover the world of nature and preserve it before its too late.
So I hope my work inspires you to find solace, peace and fascination in the vast ever-changing and extraordinary world we live in.
